First and foremost, you wear your afro beautifully! It really complements you. Secondly, I really believe that people have no decorum. To be fair it’s not always their fault but the fact remains. Why do you feel the need to add your commentary especially if it’s not a kind thing to say. Lastly and most importantly, I think that some people probably equate that hairstyle with power to some degree and uncomfortable with you being so comfortable in your skin. Let’s face it, conformity still prevails. I personally, have always did my own thing. I have not worn my hair in a natural style(other than braids) just yet because I am trying to get it healthy but I can’t wait until I do. I already know many people who are close to me who will have something to say about it. To answer the question-yes it makes them uncomfortable but only because they aren’t comfortable being themselves.
I LOVE your afro!!! It’s way tooo cute on you! I’m still in the small fro stage so I finger coil my hair every 2-3 days not because I want to be conservative I just don’t like the way it looks otherwise. Maybe once I get to your length I will be ready to get my Angela Davis on.
