Hope you enjoyed your weekend. I had a great time working at the fabulous Nordstrom’s on Michigan Ave. I am not a big shopper, but when I do shop, I study the retail environment and take note of all of the little details. When I walked into the store their were waiters and waitresses walking around with glasses of champagne and hors d’oeuvres.Very swanky and classy right?

I worked Saturday with LaMer Skincare. This a very high-end brand, with the average price of products hovering around $100! Luxury skincare items are great because most contain highly concentrated ingredients as opposed to a product being 80% water and 20% low quality ingredients. As a work at home mom, honestly LaMer is not in my budget, but while I was there doing luxury facial treatments for clients, it occurred to me, I wonder how many moms use a portion of the household budget and splurge on high end items? If you do splurge, how often do you splurge, and what kinds of items do you like to splurge on? For me it used to me purses. I would save money to spend a couple hundred dollars on a name brand bag. Now If I splurge on anything, it is a trip to the spa, which in some ways I feel is more valuable to me because it helps with my health and wellness. As a thank you from the brand, I received a jar of their famous Cre’me de la Mer Moisurizing Cream, a 2 oz. size jar is $265.

I have already started using the creme and will do a product review very soon.Don’t forget to continue to take time for yourself and do splurge even if its nothing but a grande latte from Starbucks. Have a great week Moms!
