This past Saturday I hosted a Natural Hair meetup in Chicago-It was so much FUN! We enjoyed great discussions and demonstrations of holistic hair remedies. Hair Stylist Emon Fowler of Sarah Bellum Salon, really did an excellent job with analysis of product ingredients. It was great to learn which ingredients can increase hair growth and help to maintain healthy natural hair. Over 30 women and men attended to learn about how to style natural hair and how to create products using ingredients that can be found in your kitchen. We even had a group of friends that drove in from St. Louis!! I was thrilled to see many of the women getting the one on one attention that is needed to really understand the natural hair journey.

So often when I meet other naturals we often compare hair styles and say I want mine to be like yours. My favorite quote of the day was, “Build a relationship with your hair.” I think this is so important! When you do, you can learn what works best for your hair and really ACCEPT your hair for what it is. Don’t worry about shrinkage or curl pattern. Love your hair for what it is.
Some of the members contacted me and asked if I could do a makeup demonstration. I was happy to oblige, and I shared summer skincare and makeup tips.

Thank you to all of the members of Chicago Natural Beauty Meetup. I could not do what I love to do without all of you.
