Hey Natural Beauties, the weather is hot and humid here in Chicago, so you know what that means!? It means you need to check your makeup bag and switch out your products to adjust for a warmer climate. Don’t forget to alter your skincare routine as well. Here are five things I want you to do right away!
- Change your cream foundation to a liquid or powder makeup. Cream foundation tends to be oil-based, and with a warmer temperature your oil production will kick into high gear. Oil and creamy makeup is not a good mix. Try a lightweight foundation for summer.

- SPF! SPF! SPF! Be sure to put on SPF under your foundation, or simplify, and purchase a foundation with SPF in it.

- You may also need to change the color of your foundation. Most people get tanned in the summer so this may mean you have to select a shade or two darker than you would normally wear in the winter.
- I like for my eye color to stay put even in humid weather, so try applying a primer underneath your eye shadows.
- Lip gloss is a girl’s best friend, and there are many beautiful sheer shades for summer. Try orange, pink or mauve depending on your complexion.
