Oily skin is something that most people think of as a bad thing because of its shiny look and texture. I explain to clients often, having oily skin is really not a bad thing. The oil actually acts a protective barrier of the skin and helps to slow down the process of aging. If you workout, be aware that sweating will kick your oil glands into overdrive. Use a light weight lotion to moisturize the skin and carry a small package of tissue to help blot skin of oil.
Exfoliating is critical for oily skin. Make sure to do this at least twice a week and try to use a product that contains salicylic acid. Gradually it will make shiny areas less oily.
Deep clean pores by using a mask at least once a week. Kaolin clay is great for drawing out oil from the skin.
