Today’s post has been a long time coming. A few years ago I felt like God was leading me to answer the call of ministry to women. I didn’t move on what God said because I let myself get in the way. For the past four years I’ve been writing this blog and I’ve enjoyed sharing my love for beauty with all of you, but for a while now I’ve felt like something was missing. That something is sharing my faith without fear. One of my favorite poems is written by Marianne Williamson. I love this quote, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.” For the next 30 days on #FaithFri I will be sharing my spiritual journey with inspirational quotes and articles.
I was inspired to launch #FaithFri while on a social media sabbatical. Yay Me! I survived without having access to my phone for 24 hours. It is very challenging to turn off social media because it is such a large part of my business and lifestyle. While on my break, I paid attention to who I was without my phone in my back pocket and I learned a lot about myself. I heard the voice of God loud and clear because their were no distractions. I started reading a book entitled “Invitation to Solitude & Silence” In the book, the author encourages readers to set up a special place to sit in silence and commune with God. I was really intrigued by this and decided to get started right away by creating a special place in my home for prayer and meditation. To see the transformation check out the video.
Do you have a special place set aside to commune with God?
