I am always on the look out for new ways to moisturize my almost always dry natural hair. Since I have colored my hair it has been extra dry and brittle. I have heard many other Naturals tell me about how much they love using Olive Oil. I even came across a video where the individual suggested mixing a little bit of perfume with olive oil to help moisturize skin. This really got me even more intrigued, so I figured, what the heck, let me give it a try. I did and I really like it. My hair has never been this soft, and the moisture seems to last all day. I look forward to mixing the Olive Oil with my favorite scent, Egyptian Musk.
Here are some other ways you can use Olive Oil……
- Olive oil is great to use for dry skin. Put a few tablespoons in your bath water to create soft and supple skin.
- Create an exfoliating body scrub by mixing olive oil, sugar and essential oil.
- Use as a hot oil treatment by saturating hair with warm olive oil and wrapping hair in towel or shower cap. This really helped to rid my hair of tangles and frizziness.
- Surprisingly some people even use olive oil as a natural shaving cream, apply a little to the skin and enjoy using something that has no chemical preservatives or fragrances that are normally found in commercial shaving products.
- Cleanse your skin with olive oil by massaging oil into your skin and removing with a warm washcloth. Oil is also great to use an eye makeup remover. Just be extra cautious and apply oil with a q-tip for the extra sensitive eye area.
- Moisturize your cuticles by mixing a little of the oil with warm water and soak your hands or feet for five minutes.
