Walgreens is all about beauty with the Look boutique flagship store in Chicago, IL located on State Street. They have revamped the appearance of the beauty department, upgraded the brands offered added a nail bar and as if that wasn’t enough, they have a section for brow touch ups and makeovers too…who knew??? On my first visit, I had to take a step back as I thought that entered the twilight zone…LOL. The lighting is bright, the beauty area mimics an upscale salon or mini Sephora and they offer chic brands like Beauty Blender, DDF, The Balm, Lierac and purminerals. For those of you who want to stick with the more traditional brands, don’t worry…they still have them available and I have the receipt to prove it :-).
The customer service was very good; the Beauty Advisors welcomed me and they were eager to answer my questions, show me around and or book an appointment for me!!! When I expressed my interest in attending future store events because I am a beauty blogger, I was offered a complimentary mani and I could not refuse…LOL. My nail tech was quick yet efficient and my nails look AMAZING!!!
As you can see, I was very impressed with my overall experience; however, I have 3 small issues to point out. Being the beauty snob that I am and working in the industry for several years, I was a little disappointed to not have an area to hang my coat (seeing that it is fall), not being offered something to drink (which usually happens in salon when you are receiving a service) and it would have been a plus to have been told where the powder room was upon my arrival in case I needed to powder my nose :-). While these are not the end of the world issues, it would be amazing if they would add this in the near future.
Even with the few minor concerns, it was a great visit and I shall return soon!!! My final grade for the Look boutique is 4.5 out of 5 smooches!!! MUAH. If you live in the Chicago area or if you are here for a visit, the Look boutique is a must try!!! It is located inside of Walgreens on State and Randolph on the 2nd floor.
