I fell in love with Viola Davis’s work after seeing the movie The Help, it really is was one of my favorite movies. I fell even more in love when Viola showed up on the red carpet rocking natural hair, I thought it was so courageous and she looked absolutely beautiful. After reading this post from Anderson Cooper’s website I just might be her biggest fan. Sometimes people get offended when I speak so passionately about being natural and how I refuse to accept European standards for my beauty. I don’t believe that natural hair is for everyone and I can certainly relate to weaves and relaxers being easier to manage. However what I do find disappointing is when black women refuse to go natural because they believe kinky hair is ugly and unprofessional.
