Several months ago I took a trip to the Walgreens Look boutique and I was amazed with the new concept for their flagship stores in the beauty department. Not only did they have a nail bar but they also added new brands as well! In fact, I introduced you to one of those brands in several months ago called Gosh Cosmetics, an up and coming brand in the US from Denmark. If you recall, I introduced you to the Lip Marker by Gosh Cosmetics and while I loved the color, I hated the smell and I could not keep it on long enough to truly evaluate it so, the final grade was 3 out of 5 smooches.
Today, I am here to tell you about their BB Cream. What is a BB Cream you ask? Good question and I have an answer…LOL. BB Creams are a twist of a tinted moisturizer and makeup primer with skincare benefits. Some have an SPF, some help with anti aging, evening out the skin tone or moisturizing the skin. You can wear them alone or under your makeup as a primer or use a powder on top.
Now that you have had your refresher, let me tell you about the BB Cream by Gosh Cosmetics. It is a foundation, primer and moisturizer, which offers natural sheer coverage and it, adapts to the skin tone. Unlike the Lip Marker, it is perfume free (thank goodness) and has Phytosan as an active ingredient, which helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles (woo hoo…anti-aging benefits, count me in)!
Here’s the Glam: It is great for those no makeup days (which are usually on my days off) for moisture and sheer coverage. It is very moisturizing and great for this winter as my skin has been drier than usual. It feels really good on my skin and I don’t feel like it’s there. I have gone to sleep with it on (yes, I am human)…LOL (as much as I try to wash my face every night, I have those lazy moments too) and I did not have a breakout in the morning as I have had with sleeping with foundation. It does not rub off on my clothes (ding, ding, ding…winning)! It can be removed easily with makeup wipes (not all the time as you miss the benefits of using a cleanser). It is a little darker than my skin tone but it does adjust very well and it has an SPF of 15.
Sounds perfect…right? Well, not so fast. Here’s the Slam: It was too moisturizing on the warmer days and my skin was kind of shinny by the end of the day. It is sheerer than my Smashbox BB Cream so I have to use it with a powder on top if I am working or going out as to whereas I can wear the Smashbox BB Cream alone. It has an SPF of 15 but I prefer at least a 30.
Overall, I really like the BB Cream by Gosh Cosmetics. I will definitely use this as my go to BB Cream for this winter! My final grade is 4.5 out of 5 smooches…MUAH! If you are interested in trying this BB Cream, you can purchase it at the Walgreens Look boutique for $22 and it is available in 5 shades. Happy Shopping!
