A few weeks ago I was gifted an invitation to sign up for a subscription box of beauty products and I though to myself…not another box! Over the last few months, I have seen so many beauty box subscriptions that I have lost count and interest! As you can imagine, I was not jumping for joy when this opportunity came along.
But as I headed over to the website, I must say, I was a little intrigued. The subscription box company Wantable is different because the box of beauty is all about you! It’s a cool box of products or accessories customized to your liking by a personal shopper just for you! Let me explain it in the Glam it or Slam it!
The Glam: Wantable is all about you (well…today it’s all about me but you can live vicariously through me) 🙂 You sign up, answer several questions about your style, skin tone, likes and dislikes as well as colors that you love or hate. A virtual stylist gathers your information and voilà…products are chosen just for you according to your answers. It’s a beauty box subscription that’s all about you!
The box is then delivered to your home for you to have your own personal beauty play date or schedule some beauty time with the girls! The cool thing is, you get to try a couple of boutique brands at an affordable price every month and you get an overview of all the products that were chosen for you! They only send the type of products and colors that you said you like or are willing to try.
Wantable is a different type of subscription box; they want to make you happy with the products and colors that appeal to you. The best thing is, you can skip a month if you want, they accept returns and you can change/update your style profile at any time.
The Slam: When you sign up on the website, please note that there are not a lot of skin tones to choose from so there is a possibility that the color(s) that were chosen could be too dark or light for your liking. For example, the pink lipstick that was chosen for me was too light. I felt a little like Nicki Minaj and that (the pink Barbie lip) is not the look that works for me. However, it is a good shade to add to another color.
So there is a possibility that you may receive colors that will not match 100% of the time. And for me, that is not a deal breaker because with this box subscription you will get things that you like and want to try majority of the time rather than half or a whole box of products that you have no interest in.
