Last week I went to Target and had a party in the beauty section! I was so in awe of all the new brands and beauty makeovers with the existing brands. It was like I stepped into a mini off brand Sephora but with mass beauty products. I was so captivated by the beauty of the brands that I purchased a few products during my shopping experience.
But before I tell you about my beauty buys, let me give you a glimpse into the upgraded Target beauty section. Did you know that select Target stores have a Beauty Concierge service? Just in case you’re wondering what the deal on this new service is, let me give you the beauty 411. It’s a fairly new program that started out as a test and has now expanded in the higher volume Target stores. Target apparently has a beauty advisor present on key shopping days in the store to answer your beauty questions and meet your beauty needs. In this picture, you can see the days and hours prominently listed on the fin of an endcap. She/he is “your in-aisle connection to the beauty world.”
The next thing that stood out to me was the brighter lighting in the aisle and the clean new sleek shelves which made perfect for an open sell environment so customers can play and try product with or without the Beauty Concierge. This was a much needed upgrade for Target to have a more chic beauty look in the aisle. They have also added new eye-catching signage and graphics that make you want to stop and take a peek to see what’s happening in beauty section. I don’t know about you but the sign affordably gorgeous makes me want to get my beauty savings on!
Yaass hunty! Target has stepped up their beauty game! They have added some new brands like Carol’s Daughter, Shea Moisture Cosmetics, specialty skincare brands made by dermatologist and Target exclusive products from existing brands like Essie and Sonia Kashuck.
In case you have not caught on, this review is not about a beauty product this week; it’s about the new Target beauty revamp. The Glam: Target has not only upped their beauty product offering but they have also upgraded their overall customer beauty experience. Are they a major player in the beauty game? Umm, not yet but they are sure their way with moves like this!
The Slam: Who knew? Where were the major PR announcements? How are they getting the word out? Is this in all stores and for all demographics? What’s next and how can we be in the know? Will the beauty aisles have events like sampling products in the aisles or do we have to find the Beauty Concierge? Inquiring beauty minds want to know!
My final grade for the Target beauty revamp is 4 out of 5 smooches…MUAH! I was definitely motivated by the newness, so much so, I decided to make a purchase and write a post on it. But, there are so many unanswered questions, things that I need to know before I can increase my smooches to a perfect 5. I believe that Target is on the right track with beauty and I can’t wait to see what else is coming down the aisle in my local store.
