Last month I introduced you to First Aid Beauty aka F.A.B. with a review for the Ultra Repair Concentrate, which received 5 out of 5 smooches!!! Today, I am reviewing the Facial Radiance Pads; let’s see if F.A.B. receives another perfect grade of smooches!!!I have always used a liquid toner with a cotton ball to wipe away the last traces of cleanser, exfoliate and prep my skin for my moisturizer. I never thought to use a pre-moistened toner pad because I have always equated them to the old school back in the day Clearasil acne pads. I never really had acne as a kid or that much as an adult (knock on wood) so it never occurred to me that there are some for non-acnenic skin conditions such as myself…go figure!!! So when I stumbled across the Facial Radiance Pads, I thought…why not!!!

The pads contain lactic and glycolic acids to exfoliate, cucumber and Indian gooseberry to tone and lemon peel and licorice root to brighten the skin. When I first read the ingredients, I was a little nervous as I have very sensitive skin and sometimes my skin gets irritated and needless to say, I was not ready to have a reaction!!! So I sucked it up for the good of my Beauty Scholars (this is where we pause and you applaud and say aww) and tried the pads on my freshly washed face…LOL.

Here is what I liked: The pads have the right amount of toner on them; you will never waste the product like a liquid toner by pouring too fast on the cotton ball (please don’t act like I am the only one here; you are guilty too) LOL. The pads have lactic and glycolic acids, which are AHA’s used for exfoliation and if you remember from last weeks post, lactic acid is a gentler exfoliator. It also contains licorice root to brighten, which is also great for sensitive skin to soothe it. I love that the pads have a smooth side as well as a textured side to aid in the exfoliation process. They are also perfect for travel and as you don’t have to take them out of your carry on!!! What I loved the most is (drum roll please)…. I only had to use 1 pad for my face and neck (winning)!!!

Okay, so you are probably thinking that I loved these pads so much that they are going to get a perfect grade…right??? Well let me tell you what I did not like and I then I will share my final grade. The first day that I tried the pads, my skin was a tad irritated and itchy for about 30 seconds. It happens every now and then when I use the pads and I am not sure why but it doesn’t last longer than 30 seconds so, I figure I can deal with it. It is sometimes hard to grab 1 pad and when you are tired and trying to go to bed, that can be just a tad bit frustrating!!!

My final grade for the Facial Radiance Pads by First Aid Beauty is 4.5 out of 5 smooches…MUAH!!! Not quite a perfect grade but almost. You can purchase the pads at Sephora.com or firstaidbeauty.com for $28. Happy Exfoliating!!!
