This summer my calendar has been full of lots of exciting events, and a few weeks ago, I was invited to attend The Beauty Bash. This is an event that was started by two friends who are legendary in the Chicago beauty community. Triphena Johnson and Fred Miller have a joint cause of impacting the lives of others to help raise money and bring awareness to various social issues. This year’s theme was “Beauty Against Bullying.” As you know, many people have been bullied at some point in their lives and what these folks need most is encouragement. The event started with a cocktail hour where I saw many of my dear friends and industry colleagues.

After the cocktail hours there was a beautiful dance performance, live music and special presentations given to the honorees which included: Glynn Jackson and Dr. Ali Syed of Avlon Industries
The highlight of the evening was a hair show spotlighting three models who sat on stage while the audience watched the outcome of their live hair-styling demonstrations. It was fabulous! I really enjoyed the event and meeting so many inspirational people. This event is like none other in the city of Chicago, if you want to be inspired I highly recommend you attend 2013 Beauty Bash.
