Every woman should have a collection of lip shades in various colors. If you are like me, you may have experienced being stuck in a color rut. This is when you wear the same makeup shades almost all of the time. There was one thing that was on my “beauty bucket list” that I had yet to do, and this year I finally conquered it. Let me explain, for many years I wore neutral colors all of the time, so much so, that when I would go into a store to look for new lip colors I would almost always pick the same shade. Whenever I put it on I instantly felt self conscious, not to mention my husband hated it. Because I wore beige and neutrals so much, I would almost always get a raised eyebrow stare from family and friends. I just did not feel confident in red. I realized that rockin a red lip is very much like going natural in that you have to give yourself time to adjust to seeing your face with a new look. Even if you do not wear makeup on a daily basis, lip shades are like accessories. When you wear different shades it changes your look. I absolutely love LIP TAR from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. The texture is amazing! I hate lip gloss that is so shiny it looks as if you put grease on your lips, this products has the perfect consistency and lasts all day. My favorite color is Radiate, whenever I have it on people almost always ask “what are you wearing?” and they won’t leave me alone until I answer:)
My all time favorite lip gloss from MAC Cosmetics is Lust Lip glass its the perfect neutral mauve shade for a sexy kissable look. MAC recently announced this stunning collection of pro lip palettes. The six pro palettes include a wide variety of colors in orange, pink, brown, and more. If you are looking to experiment you can pick them up at the pro stores and online in October.
If you are more likely to shop at your local drugstore Milani Cosmetics has great colors. I especially like the Haute Flash lip collection the texture is not too sticky and gives a full coverage shine.
