On one of my many trips to Sephora I discovered the brand Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics while in search of a new red lippie. A true makeup diva can never have enough reds in her lipstick collection :-).

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics A.K.A. OCC is known for their Lip Tar which is not quite a lipstick and not quite a lip-gloss…it is somewhere in the middle. It is packaged in a small tube because a little and I mean a little goes a LONG way! The color is deep in pigments and gives a semi matte finish. All the products in the brand are 100% Vegan and Cruelty Free!

Here’s the glam side: Lip Tar will last you FOREVER!!! You only need a pea size because the product is so rich with pigment; a little goes a very long way! You only need a pea size; anything more will be too much and you will be on product overload… LOL. It is neatly packaged with a lip brush, a small clear case and directions on how to apply the product (and trust me, you will need directions on how to use the product the correct way). They offer a wide range of colors on their website. It is not heavy or sticky and it does last for a long time as long as you don’t eat…LOL; you have to reapply after you eat and I am more of a lip stain kind of girl.

Here’s the slam side: It rubs off very easy. I touched the lip brush and it was on my all over my fingers. It was very annoying because it was hard to remove. Every time I touched one finger, it would rub off on the other…UGH! The product comes out of the tube very fast and if you get too much on (again); it is hard to rub off. It is a little drying without the suggested use of the Lip Primer. But who want to purchase a Lip Primer to wear a lipstick? Not me! The lip brush does not have a cover/cap and you MUST wash it after every use. I don’t have a problem with washing it but…even with cleanser, the color builds up in the brush and it is hard to remove. The lip brush is a little small for my liking. The plastic case can get stained if you are unable to wash the brush immediately

Overall, my grade for Lip Tar is 3 out of 5 smooches…MUAH!!! I like the color and concept but the overall application of applying the lipstick can be a tad messy. If you are interested in purchasing the OCC Lip Tar, you can find it at Sephora or occmakeup.com for $18.00. Happy shopping!
