Happy New Year! January is a  great time of the year to go through my blogger beauty “stash” and get rid of excess.  One of the things I love about my job is each year I get to review hundreds of new products. I do this not just because I am a beauty junkie but because I want to keep you in the loop. Check out my list of  top hair products, cosmetics, and skincare  that I can’t get enough of. Keep reading to see my  go-to picks…..

Shampoo-Essations Honey & Almond Moisture Whip Shampoo

I will admit, I had samples of this product sitting in my closet for a long time until one day, my best friend who is also a former hair stylist, came by and started raving about a sample she received at one of the Chicago Naturals Meetup. She went on and on about how this shampoo made her hair much easier to comb and left her hair extremely soft. I had to try it for myself. I must admit, this shampoo works wonders and I now use it on a regular basis. The Naked Honey & Almond Moisture Whip Conditioner is pretty awesome too!

Karen’s Body Beautiful Leave-In Conditioner

I almost never use conditioners that you have to rinse out. A leave-in helps me to detangle and style my hair, which is a part of my weekly hair regimen. I love the Sweet Ambrosia leave-in conditioner from Karen’s Body Beautiful. It has a sexy, earthy scent and leaves my hair incredibly hydrated. I also like that I can count and pronounce all of the ingredients.

Mizani Hair Mask

My hair has been color-treated for quite some time and on occasion, my hair is extra dry and thirsty. A mask helps to repair and prevent damage. I love the Supreme Oil Mask by Mizani. My hair has a visible difference in texture and condition whenever I use this product.

CURLS Souffle

I love the CURLS soufflé! Actually if I had to pick a hair care system, I would recommend the entire CURLS line because all of the products are formulated to work together. I love that CURLS makes products for different natural hair textures including everything from 1A to 4B. The soufflé is amazing as a night moisturizing treatment and during the day for shine and hydration.

 DE_CURL_FORMING_Custard.ashx

Design Essentials Natural Honey Curlforming Custard with Honey & Chamomile is different from other styling products because of the ingredients and consistency of the product. There is nothing worse than using a product designed for twist out and the product is so heavy it leaves a residue on the hair. This product is light weight and gives amazing curl definition.

Origins Facial Cleanser

I love the Checks & Balances cleanser from Origins. If you haven’t already noticed I love products that are double duty. This cleanser is great for removing makeup and doesn’t leave the skin with that “tight squeaky clean” feeling.

Coco Zoe Skin & Body Care

I don’t know about you, but when I get a chance to have time by myself, I love to indulge in a hot bath or shower. Earlier this year I was sent a few products from a company by the name of Coco Zoe. The name of course intrigued because I have a daughter named Zoie. 🙂 I really enjoyed all of the products, but I fell in love with the Lemon Brown Sugar body scrub.  In fact on a few occasions I caught my  9 year old  daughter Zoie using the body scrub, it was the lemon scent escaping from the bathroom that gave her away! I now need to order more:) The Lemon Brown Sugar body scrub is delectable and sloughs off dead skin like nobody’s business! Every girl must own a body scrub so that your skin will always be soft and smooth. No ashiness over here!

Shea Moisture Shower Gel

I am bit of shower gel snob. I will admit it. I enjoy high quality organic shower gels, and review all of the ingredients to make sure I’m not getting a bunch of water with a few chemicals thrown in. Gels that are really rich and incorporate essential oils are the best, as they last longer. My favorite is Shea Moisture’s entire body wash collection. The Shea Moisture Olive Oil & Green Tea is to die for!

 Lamik

LAMIK Cosmetics

At the Third Annual Holiday Beauty Bazaar we were fortunate to view a live makeup demonstration facilitated by Kim Roxie, CEO of LAMIK Cosmetics. LAMIK is an eco-chic makeup brand. The product line even offers eyelashes and skincare. All products are vegan friendly and cruelty free. I am in love with the professional makeup brushes.
