I tried Stainiac by The Balm a few months ago from a sample in my Birchbox subscription. Birchbox is a monthly subscription company that sends several mini samples of beauty products to try in an easy noncommittal way. The Balm is a cosmetic brand that believes in beauty in 5 minutes with products that are multi-use. The products are Paraben and Cruelty-Free with anti-aging ingredients.

When I received my full size tube, the lip stain was sheerer than I remembered but I was still excited to give it a try; it was more like a wash of color. Needless to say, I was sort of disappointed but I was not ready to give up so easily!

Here’s the Glam: A few weeks ago I tried a new lipstick but as they day went on, the lipstick was bleeding all outside of my lips even with a lip pencil. The next day I tried the lipstick again but I put my Stainaic on first then the lipstick on top and as the day went on…just like magic…no bleeding! It was like a primer but for my lips and I was totally sold! The next day, I used it again and I discovered that the Stainiac lip stain not only keeps your lipstick from bleeding; it helps it to stay on longer! I also realized the reasoning behind the sheerness of the lip stain…you can also use it as a blush as well! Wow…talk about discovery and having an Aha moment, who knew? LOL. What I love the most…the product is multifunctional and in case you don’t know, I heart products that have a multipurpose! They make me smile 🙂 .

Here’s the Slam: The stain appeared to have a high pigment of red but it turned out to be a lot more sheerer than the sample. Not a deal breaker but just a little disappointment for about 5 minutes…LOL. I was over the disappointment once I realized the stain kept my lipstick from bleeding and its multifunctional use as a cheek stain too!

My final grade for the Stainiac Lip stain is 5 out of 5 smooches…MUAH. You can purchase the lip stain for $17 on birchbox.com or thebalm.com. Happy staining!!!
